YEREVAN, JULY 28, ARMENPRESS.The 1st government session on fighting against corruption is in progress headed by Hovik Abrahamyan, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia. Armenpress reports that the Prime Minister started the session saying that fight against corruption is one of the most important directions of the policy of the Government of the Republic of Armenia. For this reason the Anti-Corruption Councilwas formed to control the realization of anti-corruption reforms.
Hovik Abrahamyan said:
“The Government has will and determination and will be consistently fostering fight against corruption. We are ready to move forward step by step with our everyday work to make the results visible for our society.”
The members of the Council are the Minister Chief of Staff Davit Harutyunyan, the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Armenia Gagik Khachatryan, the Deputy Minister of Justice of Armenia Suren Krmoyan and the President of the Public Council of Armenia Vazgen Manukyan, represantatives of different NGOs and organizations.
The Council confirmed the new anti-corruption strategy which will be included in the forthcoming session of the Government to be confirmed by it. The new strategy was introduced by the Deputy Minister of Justice of Armenia -Arsen Mkrtchyan.
