Turkish General Staff to recall military from vacation

YEREVAN, JULY 27, ARMENPRESS: General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces recalled from vacation the staff of 2nd and 3rd Field Army, stationed in the south-east of the country, due to the worsening situation on the border with Syria, Hurriyet reported.

Armenpress reports that the order also applies to personnel departments involved in combating terrorism in other parts of the country.

The situation in Turkey in recent days is very tense.

According to the Turkish military, earlier on Thursday five IS militants fired with with rocket-propelled grenades and Kalashnikov rifles on border patrol in the province of Kilis. As a result of attack the one soldier died and two were wounded.

Earlier this week, a powerful explosion occurred in Suruc city on the border with Syria. 32 people died and about 100 were injured. The attack has been widely blamed on Daesh by Turkish officials.
