Shooting between IS and Turkish border protecting units on Turkey-Syria border

YEREVAN, JULY 23, ARMENPRESS. A Turkish soldier died and two more were injuried as a result of a mortar fired from the territory of Syria. As “Armenpress” reports, citing Arabic media, the incident took place in the City of Kilis which is located in the vicinity of the Syrian border. The Turkish army informed about this, mentioning that shooting took place between the terrorists of the “Islamic State” and border protecting units of Turkey.

There is information that the Turkish border units were shelled from a Syrian district which is under the control of the IS. The army immediately responded.

Earlier unidentified individuals opened fire at the policemen in Diyarbekir, as a result of which one policeman died and two more were injured.
