Armenian Justice Academy to train Candidate Investigators

YEREVAN, JULY 21, ARMENPRESS. Armenia pays great attention to Armenian Justice Academy. Its development can be found in the 2012-2016 StrategicProgramme forLegal and Judicial Reforms. Modern studies show that the probability of reform success increases if education component is included in it.

Ruben Melikyan, the Rector of Armenian Justice Academy, Candidate of Juridical Sciences, said in his interview for Armnepress:

“Emerging technologies in Distance Education becomes more common in many countries. The latter have several advantages: the time of the students is saved, the problem of distance is solved, and certain material resources are also saved. We have considered Distance Education sphere one of the priorities of our Academy and fortunately have good specialists in that sphere.”

Referring to Distance Education system of Armenian Justice Academy, the speaker highlighted the fact that the existence of high quality materials lies in the base of their strategy and not knowledge transfer mechanism.

Ruben Melikyan said, answering Armenpress’s question as to what problems came forth as a result of the union of judicial and prosecutorial schools:

“Apart from carrying out judicial and prosecution functions, Armenian Justice Academy has also undertaken the professional training and preparation of Investigator Candidates and the acting prosecutors. In reference to the problems, we do our best to make most of our advantages. We have never had any situation where the judges or investigators expressed any displeasure with a joint training. We do not choose special trainings, but rather the ones that are effective for both of the target groups: the judges listen to the approaches of the prosecutors and vice versa. This is really a great method. Besides, we are currently working on the Lawyer school to involve the lawyers in learning processes.”
