Tigran Mansuryan introduced life and work of Komitas during meeting with music lovers

YEREVAN, JULY 18, ARMENPRESS. Komitas had to be ideal in order to become the fundament of a whole school of composers. Composer Tigran Mansuryan described the short but huge work of Komitas in this way in theKomitas Museum-Instituteon July 18.

“Armenpress” introduces moments from the meeting during which the audience comprised of representatives of different generations were trying not to miss any word of Mansuryan about Komitas.

“Komitas was like the far reaching dart whose roots reach the Armenian music of pagan times. He creates a specialization and does not want to ascribe its name to himself: composer”, Tigran Mansuryan expressed his viewpoint.

According to him, Komitas did not use that professional term referring to himself, he did not say or write that he is a composer. “He is an extreme expression of decency and virtue”.
