YEREVAN, JUNE 19, ARMENPRESS: NATO does not play any specific role in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement, however, recognizing the priority for security of the sides, NATO's position remains unchanged. The North Atlantic Alliance continues to support the OSCE Minsk group. Armenpress reports that the Senior Expert for Euro‐Atlantic Integration and Partnership of NATO Headquarters Steffen Elgersma stated about it at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly’s Rose-Roth seminar held in Yerevan.

“The OSCE Minsk Group plays quite an important role in the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict”, - Elgersma said. According to the Senior Expert for Euro‐Atlantic Integration and Partnership of NATO Headquarters, NATO cooperates with the countries of the South Caucasus, based on four pillars – countries’ support, implementation of education reforms in defense sector, accountability and transparency and, of course, diplomacy.
