Tbilisi Zoo animals may be temporarily transferred to Yerevan

YEREVAN, JUNE 15, ARMENPRESS: In the result of the flooding, caused by the heavy rains in the capital of Georgia, Tbilisi, on June 13, the territory of the Tbilisi Zoological Park and 70% of the animals were destroyed.

“Due to the water level rise by three meters, three of the Tbilisi Zoo employees died, one of whom was trying to help the animals. Four employees of the Yerevan Zoo left for Georgia to provide assistance to the Tbilisi Zoo, taking with them sleep-inducing medicines to help with veterinary assistance. Issue of providing additional aid is discussed in Yerevan, as well as the option of keeping temporarily the Tbilisi Zoo animals in the Yerevan Zoological Park”, - says the information published by the Yerevan Zoo, Armenpress reports.
