NICOSIA, JUNE 11, ARMENPRESS: All the governments of the Republic of Cyprus have always voted for the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. As before, there is no change in the official stance of Nicosia. The Deputy of the Cypriot Parliament of Armenian origin Vardges Mahtesyan told Armenpress about it, stating that he says about it basing on the contacts he had among the governmental circles of Cyprus. Mahtesyan notes that Cyprus has also had a historical territorial problem and the same opinion that the Government of Cyprus has on the reunification of the island and the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
“The efforts should be continued to settle the Nagorno Karabakh conflict in the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group. This issue cannot have any alternative besides the peaceful settlement. I have heard this viewpoint for many times in the Cypriot governmental circles”, - stated Mahtesyan.
