ECtHR to deliver Grand Chamber judgment on Sargsyan v. Azerbaijan case

YEREVAN, JUNE 10, ARMENPRESS. Next week, the European Court of Human Rights will be delivering Grand Chamber judgments on the Sargsyan v. Azerbaijan and Chiragov and Others v. Armenia cases. The Council of Europe informed “Armenpress” that the public hearing will be held on the 16th of June at 16:00 CET.

Sargsyan v. Azerbaijan (application no. 40167/06) case concerns an Armenian refugee’s complaint that, after having been forced to flee from his village in the Shahumyan region in 1992 during the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, he has since been denied the right to have access to his property, home and his relatives’ graves there.

Chiragov and Others v. Armenia (application no. 13216/05) case concerns the complaints by Azerbaijani refugees that they have been unable to return to their homes and properties in the district of Lachin, from where they were forced to flee in 1992 during the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
