Syrian authorities want to see prosperous Armenian community: Armenian MPs

YEREVAN, JUNE 9, ARMENPRESS. The meetings between the Armenia-Syria Friendship Group of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia and the Syrian leadership were held in a reciprocally warm atmosphere. The Head of the Armenia-Syria Friendship Group of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, MP Tachat Vardapetyan stated this at the course of the press conference held on June 9. The Armenian MP noted that the meetings with our compatriots were particularly encouraging. They discussed the opportunities of returning to Armenia and the conditions of setting in here.

The member of the Armenia-Syria Friendship Group of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Gagik Melikyan also highlighted the opportunity to get acquainted with the issues of great concern for the Armenian community on-site and give comprehensive answers to their questions.

“It’s was very encouraging for us that everybody spoke with gratification about the Armenian community; they want the Armenian community to stay in Syria and continue its activities there. Our compatriots were also satisfied with the positive attitude of the Syrian authorities,” Gagik Melikyan concluded.
