Memory of Armenian Genocide victims commemorated in Spanish parliament

YEREVAN, 23 APRIL, ARMENPRESS. The memory of the 1.5 million victims of the Armenian Genocide was commemorated in the Spanish parliament on the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. MPs from all parliamentary groups have participated in the ceremony. As “Armenpress” reports, citing the official website of the Central Council of the Armenian Cause, the Armenian Cause Committee of Spain stated this.

The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Armenia to Spain Avet Adonts has welcomed the Spanish MPs’ initiative and underlined the necessity of the Armenian Genocide recognition by Spain. “One of the most important messages of the 100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide is the gratitude to those countries, which has recognized the Armenian Genocide and has taken the steps to prevent similar crimes in the future," the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia highlighted.
