During the discussion on the draft of the Armenian Genocide Resolution that began in the European Parliament, the Deputies of the European Parliament urged Turkey to recognize the Armenian Genocide.“We are here to urge the Turkish government to recognize the Armenian Genocide. This is difficult, just as it was difficult for the Germans to recognize what happened to the Jews during WWII. It’s important for nations to acknowledge what their ancestors did. I find that Mr.Erdoğanwill agree with this. This is an official matter and a matter of collective memory,”Romanian Deputy of the European Parliament Cristian Dan Preda said, adding that the Armenian Genocide has to be a matter of discussion for leaders of nations, not scholars, as “Armenpress” reports.
