Armenia’s Prosecutor General and Canadian-Armenian Citizenship Judgediscuss cooperation

YEREVAN, 13 APRIL, ARMENPRESS. Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Gevorg Kostanyan received Canadian-Armenian Citizenship Judge Aris Babikian, who is Canada’s only judge of Armenian descent. As the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Armenia reports to “Armenpress”, during the meeting, the interlocutors discussed issues related to Armenia’s legal system and the issues concerning the Canadian-Armenian community.

At the request of the Citizenship Judge, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Government of the Republic of Armenia to the ECHR Gevorg Kostanyan also touched upon the “Perinçek vs.Switzerland” case and presented Armenia’s position. The Prosecutor General welcomed the proposal for cooperation in the legal sphere and for the implementation of joint programs, and Judge Aris Babikian expressed willingness to do everything possible for the expansion of effective partnership between the two nations and to contribute to Armenian Genocide recognition.
