December 9 to be marked in Armenia as Genocides Victims Remembrance Day

YEREVAN, MARCH 25, ARMENPRESS. The National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia has unanimously adopted the draft law on making amendments in the Law of the Republic of Armenia “On Holydays and Remembrance Days”. The draft law suggests marking December 9 as the Genocides Victims Remembrance Day. As reports “Armenpress”, 113 MPs voted in favour of the draft law. No against votes and abstentions were registered.

Before the voting, the main rapporteur Artak Zakaryan noted that the suggestions voiced at the course of the discussions were accepted and it is the edited version of the draft law introduced to the MPs for voting. Among other things, Artak Zakaryan noted that the number of co-authors of the draft law has also been increased.
