Nikolay Tsaturyan to direct play devoted to Armenian Genocide Centennial

YEREVAN, 23 FEBRUARY, ARMENPRESS.Theater figure, People’s Artist of the Republic of Armenia, Professor Nikolay Tsaturyanwill be directing a play based on excerpts from poet Paruyr Sevak’s “Unsilenceable Belfry” and devoted to the 100thanniversary of the Armenian Genocide. This is what Tsaturyan said during a February 23 press conference.

“If I direct a play about the present, it won’t interest anyone since everyone talks about that everywhere, and when actors talk about it on stage, we feel at ease. However, actors have to raise questions and let the society answer those questions. It’s very important for the play to present the consequences that the present may lead to,”Nikolay Tsaturyan mentioned.
