YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 3, ARMENPRESS. Turkey’s oppositional Republican People's Party has raised the issue of the photo of the Armenian Genocide Memorial Tzitzernakaberd published in Turkish MFA calendar in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
As reports “Armenpress”, citing the Turkish Haberler.com, the Deputy from the Republican People's Party Osman Koruturk from Istanbul demanded from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu to clarify if the photo is a part of Turkey’s preparatory activities and strategy advancing April 24.
Among other things, the Deputy from the Republican People's Party Osman Koruturk also wanted to know if there can be other similar “surprises” like the photo published in Turkey’s MFA calendar.
Previously it was reported that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey has begun an investigation to find out how the photo of Tzitzernakaberd Memorial dedicated to the Armenian Genocide victims’ memory appeared on the calendar devoted to the Battle of Gallipoli (Çanakkale).
An unidentified source informed the Turkish media that the relevant measures will be implemented against the person responsible for posting the photo. The Turkish media stopped spreading information after the clarification of the incident.
Previously the Turkish media published a photograph of the Armenian Genocide Memorial Tzitzernakaberd, which was depicted among the photographs on the April page of the Turkish MFA’s official calendar.
