YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 2, ARMENPRESS: The leader of the Armenian chess team Levon Aronian will face the current world champion Magnus Carlsen in the first round of the Baden-Baden chess tournament. Aronian will play with whites.
The tournament will be held on February 2-9. Levon Aronian’s opponents will be Magnus Carlsen, Viswanathan Anand, Fabiano Caruana, Michael Adams, Etienne Bacrot, Arkadi Naiditsch and David Baramidze.
Armenpress reports that this tournament is one of the strongest, held in Germany. It consists of seven rounds and the opponents will face each other only once.
