I’m proud to bring back over 14,5 thousand hectares of occupied territory from Azerbaijan: Vladimir Movsisyan

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 6, ARMENPRESS: The Editor-in-Chief of “Film” magazine, the member of the Russian Union of Cinematographers Robert Matosyan provided Armenpress with the interview held with the prominent public and political figure Vladimir Movsisyan. In the interview among other things, the late Vladimir Movsisyan stated:

“There was a spread opinion, why in many Soviet Union republics the former communist secretaries (Nazarbayev, Lukashenko) remained in power and in Armenia not. The reason is clear: No communist leader in Armenia could remain in power, if he could not settle the Karabakh issue. The logic is as follows: “Karabakh was given to Azerbaijan by the communist leaders and they had to bring it back”. Certainly both Moscow and the West would make any efforts to hinder the just resolution of the Karabakh issue.

It is also immoral to address fake and fabricated accusations to concrete people, saying that they deal with the political bodies pretending for power. I have never made a deal with my conscience and faithfully served my people and I will continue serving henceforth.

I am proudto bring back over 14,5 thousand hectares of the Armenian territory, occupied by Azerbaijan, and accept, settle and provide with dwelling half a million Armenian refugees. During the collapse of the Soviet power I managed to keep the nation away from bloodshed, build and reconstruct 2,837 houses in the Nagorno Karabakh Republic and resettle about 37,000 refugees, former Artsakh people, in their fatherland. All this is not an attempt to praise myself but a proof of serving my native people and modest contribution”.
