YEREVAN, OCTOBER 28, ARMENPRESS: Armenia’s affiliation to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) excludes the military way of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement.
“Signing of the agreement was prolonged, because Azerbaijan exerted certain pressure on Kazakhstan, perfectly understanding that by joining EEU Armenia will elevate to a new level its relations with Russia and other EEU states, which are also CSTO member states with Armenia and the above countries will make Azerbaijan accept that there is no alternative to peaceful settlement of the NK conflict, Directorof theInstituteofCIS States Konstantin Zatulin told Armenpress.
In answer to Armenpress’ question on how much the sanctions of the West will influence EEU’s future, Zatulin noted it would be naivety to state the sanctions will have no impact at EEU countries, but they cannot be a serious obstacle for EEU’s further development.
