Rival keeps border tensed, targeting civilians

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 16, ARMENPRESS: The situation in several border villages of Tavush Region is quiet. The heads of the villages told Armenpress about it. They say that during the last days the rival shows activity, opening fire on the villages and Armenian frontier servicemen. The Armenian side does not yet respond to these shots.

“At this moment the situation is quiet. They shot the day before yesterday and a day before that. The material damages are not big”, - said Ararat Avalyan, the head of the Movses Village.

The head of the Chinari Village Samvel Saghoyan said that in his village as well the situation is calm. “The rival shot in the direction of the village on October 13 and 14. On October 14 there was a shot in the direction of the shepherd, who entered a house, after which they began targeting the house and then stopped shooting”, - said Saghoyan, adding that the Armenian servicemen do not respond to the shots.

The Spokesperson of the Defense Army of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Senor Hasryatyan stated that activity by the rival has been registered in the line of contact. “Sometimes they get active and sometimes calm down”, - he said. The condition of the serviceman, wounded by the rival several days ago, is normal.
