YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 9, ARMENPRESS: All those, who correspond to the standards of the European Court Judges, have about two weeks to apply to the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia and submit documents for the position of an Armenian judge in theEuropean Court of Human Rights. Though a week has passed since the launch of the 20-day contest, no application has been submitted so far. The rector of the Academy of Justice, the member of the contest commission Ruben Melikyan told Armenpress that here we see the Armenian character and, for sure, the applicants will submit their documents in the last days of the contest. Melikyan is certain that there will be a lot of applicants and the commission will work objectively and transparently.
Professional skills, personal and moral qualities, knowledge of languages – these are the primary criteria that will guide the commission. In this case the commission has not set any new things: the standards are clearly stated in Europe.
