YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 9, ARMENPRESS: Armenian national artist and composer Tigran Mansuryan is going to present 3 of his works dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide to the State Committee, established by the President of the Republic of Armenia, coordinating the events for the 100thanniversary of Armenian Genocide, in order to organize a concert evening. According to the President’s decree the committee, created 3 years ago, is preparing a series of events which must be held towards 2015 and during 2015.
Mansuryan told Armenpress: “I have 3 works in memory of victims of the Armenian Genocide. I have written a concert for alt and orchestra entitled “Three works to sing for Ararat from open window”. I have also written a violoncello concert titled “Where is your brother, Abel”. Besides I have also a work titled “Requiem”, which I have written by the order of a German company”.
According to the renowned composer, these three works together make one concert. “I must suggest the State Committee coordinating the events for the 100thanniversary of the Armenian Genocide to organize a concert with these works. By the way the Violoncello concert has not yet been heard in Armenia”, - added the composer.
