YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 3, ARMENPRESS. Within the framework of visit to Thrace, it is considered that Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I of Constantinople will have a meeting with the local Armenian community and the Armenian clergymen of the Komotini’s Armenian church on September 23. In a conversation with “Armenpress”, the member of the ARF Armenian National Committee of Greece Kerob Eskiazian stated that both social and religious issues will be discussed with the Patriarch.

Among other things, the member of the ARF Armenian National Committee of Greece Kerob Eskiazian highlighted: “The relations between the Armenian and Greek Churches have always been on a high level and in this regard it should be noted that the meeting will be held on a fraternal soil. The Armenian community will celebrate the 180th anniversary of construction of Komotini’s St. Gregory the Illuminator Church, which is the oldest Armenian church in Greece. We are happy that the Patriarch kindly agreed to participate in the celebrations.”
