St Bartholomew church in Van is in dilapidated condition

YEREVAN, AUGUST 27, ARMENPRESS. Armenian historical St Bartholomew's church in Van’s Bashkale province continues to remain in dilapidated condition. After withdrawal of military unit from Armenian church’s territory in Albayrak village in 2013, St Bartholomew’s church is looking forward to the restoration works. As reports “Armenpress”, “Akos” periodical informed about this.

In 1990 the territory of the church was used as a military base by special service detachment and was closed for visitors. Though in 2011 the Turkish Mejlis's tourism commission approved the restoring project of the church dating back to 13-14 centuries, but the decision still remains unrealized.
