Government to provide $ 100 million to farmers for building greenhouses

YEREVAN, AUGUST 12, ARMENPRESS.On August 12, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan paid a working visit to several communities of Armavir region, to learn about the issues of concern for the residents and to discuss the ways to solve them.

As “Armenpress” was informed from the Department of Information and Public Relations of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, the first stop of the Prime Minister’s visit was at Arazap community’s fields of vegetable crops. Here, the villagers expressed their gratitude to the Government, for providing effective means through the Ministry of Agriculture for fighting moths, due to which this year's harvest was extraordinarily abundant. Introducing the priority issues of the village, the residents asked Hovik Abrahamyan to assist them in purchasing a tractor, as well as transformer for the pump of the village. The Prime Minister promised to solve the problems, giving instructions to the responsible officials.

Later on, Hovik Abrahamyan summarized the results of his visit at a briefing with media representatives. He noted that the Government is working out plans of providing long-term loans and developing greenhouse enterprises in order to contribute to the development of the agricultural sector. "We have a large resource of about 100 million U.S. dollars, which will be provided to the farmers for the construction of greenhouses. It's a great opportunity to create jobs and to export the products," said Abrahamyan.
