Prior to that, the Azerbaijani media had once again violated a number of points of the Geneva Convention, concerning the rights of the captives. Karen Petrosyan’s photos have already been spread by several Azerbaijani media, presenting him as a saboteur.

Earlier it was reported that in a conversation with “Armenpress”, the Governor of the Chinari border village of Armenia’s Tavush Samvel Saghoyan confirmed that the resident of their village 31-year old Karen A. Petrosyan had crossed the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and was taken captive. The news saying that he was taken captive was previously spread in the Azerbaijani media, reporting that the Armenian hostage was discovered by the resident of Aghbulagh village of the Tovuz region. Among other things, the Governor of Chinari village Samvel Saghoyan noted: “The boy liked drinking. The circumstances of crossing the border are not clear yet. But there are suspicions that he was drunk. We are trying to clarify how it happened.”
