Uruguay made most compelling contribution to recognition and condemnation of Armenian Genocide: Armenia's President

YEREVAN, JULY 10, ARMENPRESS. President Serzh Sargsyan's state visit to the Republic of Uruguay started on July 9. Before meeting with President Jose Mujica, Serzh Sargsyan visited the Independence Square, laid a wreath at the monument of General JoseGervasioArtigasand paid tribute to his memory. As "Armenpress" was informed from the Department of Public Relations and Mass Media of the President's Office, the Presidents of Armenia and Uruguay discussed a wide range of issues on strengthening the bilateral ties and developing cooperation. The Presidents of the two countries noted gladly that on the basis of mutual respect and trust between Armenia and Uruguay, warm and friendly relations have been formed. This relationship, according to the Presidents, is manifested in the bilateral readiness and demonstrated special attitude to the issues of each other in various fields of cooperation. During the meeting, the President of the Republic of Armenia stressed that Armenia is interested in developing a comprehensive agenda with Uruguay, in the political, trade and economic, cultural and other fields of mutual interest, and is ready to direct the necessary efforts for that purpose.
