Armenia's Government provides key guarantee of human rights

YEREVAN, JUNE 30, ARMENPRESS. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan believes that the implementation of the program of the activities emanating from the strategy of protection of human rights is a key guarantee of human rights. According to him, it is difficult to imagine the effectiveness of the legal field and the governance of any country without ensuring human rights and fundamental freedoms. "For Armenia it is very important to implement the strategy of human rights protection. It can be considered an important tool in the field of human rights, through which we provide the fulfillment of the commitments of our state"- as reports “Armenpress” said Hovik Abrahamian during the event dedicated to the launch of the program of the activities emanating from the national strategy for the protection of human rights.

The Prime Minister stressed that the strategy program was developed through collaboration with various state agencies, public and international organizations. "By the decision of the Government of Armenia on February 27 the program of actions for human rights protection strategy was adopted. The feature of this program is that within the frame of a single document such activities are planned that relate to various state agencies"- said Armenia’s Prime Minister.

He stressed that this program is considered to be a key step in strengthening human rights guarantees in Armenia.
