Armenia's Minister of Healthcare meets with U.S. Ambassador

YEREVAN, JUNE 24, ARMENPRESS. The Minister of Health of the Republic of Armenia Armen Muradyan received the delegation headed by the U.S. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiaryto Armenia John Heffern. As “Armenpress” was informed from the Ministry of Health, welcoming the guests, the Minister thanked the U.S. Government and the people for the support and long-term cooperation offered to the health system of Armenia.

"In health sector we have a lot of work ahead, taking into account the way in the past" - said Armen Muradyan. He praised the assistance agreement on improving the efficiency of health and social services signed on August 6, 2010, between the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Government of the Republic of Armenia, under which primary health care is expected to continue to implement reforms, as well as cooperation in combat against tuberculosis, maternal and child health, emergency and urgent health care services.
