Conference on Armenian Genocide to be held in Sardinia Island

YEREVAN, JUNE 10, ARMENPRESS. On the initiative of Italian-Arab Assadakah Centre and the Embassy of Armenia to Italy, on June 17, a conference dedicated to the Armenian Genocide will be held in the Italian island of Sardinia. As “Armenpress” was informed from Assadakah Centre, during the conference entitled “The Armenian Genocide: 2015 – a year of memory”, the proposal of Assadakah Centre will be introduced again - to declare 2015 a year of “Memory and Conscience”.

Assadakah Centre had sent a letter to the UN and to the European Parliament. The Centre has declared 2015 a year of remembrance in Italy as well.

During the conference, the issues on the difficult situation of the Armenians in the current geopolitical context, as well as the continuing repression by the Syrian jihadist armed groups will be discussed.

The conference will be attended by Armenian Ambassador to Italy Sargis Ghazaryan, Senator Ignatius Angioni, Secretary General of Assadakah Centre Raimondo Schiavone and Responsible for Foreign Relations of the centre Talal Khrais.
