Iranian and Armenian businessmen of diaspora are also interested in creation of free trade zone

YEREVAN, JUNE 4, ARMENPRESS. The project of creation of free economic zone near the Armenian-Iranian border can be effective. In a conversation with the reporters, this opinion was expressed by the Economy Minister Karen Chshmarityan. "Not only the Armenian and Iranian businessmen are interested in this project, but also the Armenian businessmen of diaspora. It is planned to establish mainly Armenian-Iranian joint industrial ventures in that economic zone" - as reports “Armenpress”, the Minister said.

Chshmarityan attaches great importance to the relations with Iran. It is a constant friendly country to Armenia. The development of any economic relation with Iran is beneficial for Armenia, especially if it's a free economic zone, where such sectors can be represented that are of mutual interest.

"Syunik" free economic zone project, aimed at the industrial infrastructure development with different countries, wholesale trade promotion, was presented on June 3 at the Armenian-Arab business conference. The project introduced to the Government is primarily aimed at the formation of industrial infrastructure with the neighboring countries, including the Islamic Republic of Iran, increase of wholesale trade volumes, as well as the infrastructures with the Customs Union countries.
