YEREVAN, JUNE 2, ARMENPRESS.The newly-appointed Rector of Yerevan State Institute of Theater and Cinema, writer, film critic David Muradyan has lots of plans and initiatives especially for the next two years. In his interview with “Armenpress” correspondent, the newly-appointed rector noted, that the task of an art institute is to shape artistic individuals and help those individuals to find themselves, as well as be educated as competent professionals.
"This year our educational institution marks the 70th anniversary of its establishment. This means that we have a huge heritage and wealth of traditions. At the same time – reforms. This in its turn implies new realities and correspondingly updated educational policy. In this context, it is difficult to talk about the first steps, as I was the acting rector for a month and a half, and some preparatory steps have already been made. Our task is to prepare such a generation that is able to dictate culture in the market. Usually the market dictates culture, but the time has come to reverse the process" - underscored Muradyan.
