Celebrations at Gevorg Chavush Museum in Ashnak

YEREVAN, MAY 27, ARMENPRESS. Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan together with the residents of the village Ashnak participated in the events held on the 107th anniversary of the death of Gevorg Chavush, which is celebrated each year as “fidayaton” (day of the freedom fighters). This year the celebration is marked by the installation of a sculpture of an eagle with wide-spread wings on Gevorg Chavush Museum. In a conversation with the journalists Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan highlighted the fact that every year this event is expanding the number of its participants. “On May 27, marking the day of the death of the great commander Gevorg Chavush as a commemoration day has been a tradition for many years. This is one of those rare cases in the history when the day of the death of a hero turns into a veritable feast of national celebration", reports "ARMENPRESS", citing Taron Margaryan.
