YEREVAN, MAY 20, ARMENPRESS. Armenia will ensure at least 5 percent annual economic growth in 2014-2017. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan expressed such a view at the course of the discussion of the Government project in the National Assembly in response to the question of the Secretary of Rule of Law Party Faction Mher Shahgeldyan. “The previous Government introduced 5-7 percent economic growth in its program. I have decided to be clearer and we have introduced 5 percent economic growth which we surely can provide if we are able to provide equal conditions of work for everybody, if we are able to carry out the steps that are directed to bringing out everybody from the shadow,” Hovik Abrahamyan said as reported by Armenpress.
He underscored that 5 percent economic growth cannot have serious influence on the social state of people, but the Government will do its best to provide that minimum and add it in future. The Prime Minister noted that we need more than 5 percent economic growth but we should go step-by-step ahead to achieve that.
