YEREVAN, APRIL 29, ARMENPRESS.The UN High commissioner for Human Rights NaviPillay responded to the letter of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Eduard Nalbandyan. In the letter the Minister expressed deep concern about the situation created in the Armenian-populated Kessab city of Syria and the surrounding villages in the result of the terrorist attacks.
The Department of Mass Media and Public Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia informed Armenpress that in her letter NaviPillay informed that her team of human rights control located in the region follows the situation attentively and has already had a conversation with a series of families displaced as a result of the attacks.
She assured that the human rights situation in Kessab and the surrounding villages will be included in the upcoming report of the UN Secretary-General according to the Security Council 2139 resolution.
