Erdogan’s condolences are equal neither Genocide recognition, nor apology: Charles Aznavour

YEREVAN, APRIL 24, ARMENPRESS: The world famous singer Charles Aznavour finds that the condolences of the Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the grandchildren of the people subjected to Genocide are equal neither the recognition, nor the apology.

In the open letter published by “France Press” Agency Charles Aznavour believes that the statement by Erdogan is the first step ahead of the dialogue which was rejected to the Armenian people for 100 years. “Humanism should control relations among people. Common sense suggests that besides the dialogue the expression of the condolences has another motivation which is so important for restoring the historical truth,” the letter says, as reported by Armenpress.

At the same time, the world-famous singer said that Erdogan continues to refuse the recognition of the Armenian Genocide realized in the Ottoman Empire in 1915, while his word “condolences” must be viewed as a personal will of the political figure-to represent a demonstrative open position.
