Catholicos of All Armenians received Ambassador of Iraq

YEREVAN, APRIL 16, ARMENPRESS. On April 16, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians received the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Republic of Armenia Ghazi Taher Khaled. As “Armenpress” was informed by the Press Office of the Holy See, His Holiness spoke with satisfaction about the warm and friendly relations between the two countries, expressing the hope that the Ambassador's efforts will contribute to the expansion of the existing cooperation, including various sectors of partnership.

Further, His Holiness and the Iraqi Ambassador spoke about the Armenian community and parish life in Iraq, with a particular reference to the importance of inter-religious dialogue.

In his turn, the Iraqi Ambassador to Armenia Ghazi Taher Khaled thanked the Holy See for the cordial reception, introducing to His Holiness the steps of strengthening the existing ties between Iraq and Armenia, attaching much importance to the further development of the relations between the two countries.
