Armenian schools closed for 15 days in Damascus

YEREVEN, APRIL 16, ARMENPRESS. Because of the shelling in Bab Touma neighborhood of Damascus on April 15, the Armenian Catholic "Al Manar" ("Lighthouse"), as well as other schools have been closed for 15 days. “Armenpress” was informed about this from "Berio News” Facebook page. At the parliamentary session Syrian Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi condemned the bloody deed perpetrated in Bab Touma.

Earlier SyrianHealth and Education Ministers, as well as the Armenian Ambassador to Syria Arshak Poladyan,Primate of the Armenian Holy Apostolic Church Diocese in Damascus -His Grace Bishop Armash Nalbandian, Armenian Catholic community leader Bishop Joseph Arnautyan, and other union officials visited the injured, personally following their healing process. Besides the human loss, the shelling caused heavy damage to the school and the houses in the vicinity. The incident has spread dread and horror in all the Armenian regions of Damascus.
