European Union will contribute€ 2.6 million to Armenia for modernization of “Bagratashen” border crossing point

YEREVAN, APRIL 11, ARMENPRESS. The European Union will contribute € 2.6 million to Armenia to raise the quality of systematized management of the borders at “Bagratashen” crossing point on the Armenian-Georgian state border and to equip the crossing points with the newest technologies.“Provision of Equipment and Infrastructure for the Bagratashen-Sadakhlo Border Crossing Point between Armenia and Georgia and Enhancement of their Capacities” project with the budget of € 4.3 million, aims at implementing systematized management technologies corresponding to European standards, which will promote the international trade and transit transportation, as well as facilitate the people’s movements. During the start-up conference of the project theChairman of State Revenue Committee of Armenia GagikKhachatryan stated that modern information technologies should be applied for the management of the borders to upmost facilitate and transfer customs-business relations to a more predictable environment.
