Armenia may resemble Switzerland in human rights protection: Ombudsman

YEREVAN, APRIL 8, ARMENPRESS: Among the post-Soviet countries Armenia is among the best in human rights protection. The Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia Karen Andreasyan stated about it at the press conference. “Even compared with Hungary, which is a developed European country, our Republic is even more progressive in this issue”, - said the Ombudsman.

Karen Andreasyan believes that the shortcomings in the field of the human rights belong to the authorities, though the achievements of the recent years as well belong to them. “The progress of the last years was possible thanks to the efforts of the authorities, civil society and the political opposition. We just always see and criticize the bad things and do not ever speak of the positive developments”, - said the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia, Armenpress reports.
