Moscow demands UN SC to urgently discuss attacks on Kessab

YEREVAN, APRIL 1, ARMENPRESS: The Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov urged the United Nations Security Council to discuss the shelling of ethnic Armenian residents in Kesab without a delay, Armenpress reports, citing ITAR-TASS. “It’s essential that the UN Security Council should examine the situation immediately,” he tweeted.

Activists of the Armenian community in Moscow held a peaceful action of protest in front of the Turkish embassy on Monday. “The data we have suggests that militants from Turkey took part in the purges of the peaceful population and we’d like to call public opinion to the crime,” Edgar Grig, a leader of the community said.

For this purpose the Moscow Armenians filed a request with the Mayor’s Office to hold a meeting Wednesday, April 2.
