Three Armenians from Kessab have Already Moved to Latakia

Yerevan, March 31, Armenpress. Out of 22 Kessab Armenians, who had been arrested and detained in Turkish prison, 3 have already been moved to Latakia. This was reported to Armenpress by Vice-Chairman of the Social Democrat Hunchakian Party (SDHP) in Armenia, Syrian-Armenian VazgenMesropyan, who at March 31 press conference informed, that 3 Kessab Armenians will be transported to Latakia after noon.

He informs as well, that one of those three is 94 years’ old, who used to be a well-known teacher, now working as a keeper of the church, nicknamed “Stalin grandpa”. The other two are Mr. and Mrs. Ghazaryans. Most of the detainees of the Turkish prison are aged over 80.

According to Mesropyan, the fate of the other imprisoned Kessab Armenians remains unknown, but it is not excepted that in the future he will have certain information about them. The Vice-Chairman of the Social Democrat Hunchakian Party gets his information from Syrian Armenians but for the sake of their safety, he doesn’t want to reveal the names of his sources.
