Armenian director to shoot movie about Komitas

YEREVAN, MARCH 27, ARMENPRESS: The film director, actor and screenwriter Vigen Chaldranyan is going to shoot a new movie ahead of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The work is devoted to the life and activities of Komitas. The director will start the shooting works, when his performance of Hamlet in the Hamazgayin State Theater will be over.

“Every time when making a film, I miss the theater. Then on the contrary – upon the completion of the movie I start staging. This time I will launch quite a responsible work, as the film is devoted to the memory of Komitas. It is a very important subject and I have been preparing for this for quite a long time. I have entered the cinema production industry since 1985 with the movie “April”, which was also dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide and now, thirty years after, as well, I will work on a similar film”, - told Vigen Chaldranyan to the Armenpress correspondent.

Vigen Chaldranyan was born in 1956 in Yerevan, Armenia. He is a director and writer, known forTer voghormya(1997),Dzayn barbaro...(1991) and Symphony of Silence(2001).
