YEREVAN, MARCH 17, ARMENPRESS: In the speech made at the State Duma of the Russian Federation, the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia Vladimir Zhirinovsky performed an explanation concerning the Azerbaijani nation. Armenpress reports, citing the Azerbaijani ANS PRESS that Zhirinovsky stated that no nation called Azerbaijani exists.
“When translated into Russia, the word “Azerbaijan” means people, living nearby the Caspian Sea. Azer-Khazar – Caspian Sea, baja – place, area. In Russian – Khazar people. And that cannot be considered a nation. It means the people, living in that place. As we say, for example, Volgograd people”, - said Zhirinovsky.
