YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 21, ARMENPRESS. UNICEF and Armenia’s office of “World Vision” signed an agreement of mutual understanding which aims at supporting the strengthening of child protection system in Armenia. Within the frames of the agreement the partners will correspond their approaches around a series of issues including care of children, reorganization of boarding care institutions to community services, maternal and child health, as well as the development of an inclusive education system in Armenia, disaster risk reduction and the promotion of positive attitudes towards children with disabilities.
“The issue of the rights protection of children in Armenia has been the focus of major projects carried out by UNICEF since 1994. It is very important to react on this sector and create a protective environment for children , not only to prevent and respond to violence and abuse, but also to promote social justice and equality, especially when talking about the most vulnerable groups,” UNICEF representative of Armenia’s office Henriette Ahrens said as reported by Armenpress.
