YEREVAN. FEBRUARY 15, ARMENPRESS: The statement of the U.S. Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group Ambassador James Warlick concerning the restoration of the complete format of the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict negotiations is a positive progress, though in Yerevan and Stepanakert they expect for more. The Chairman of the European Integration NGO, the political expert Karen Bekaryan stated that the statement is a statement but the most important thing is when it will be brought to life. The note, certainly, is a positive and welcome step but more important are the forthcoming processes. “We should understand if there is a process, which takes to complete participation format or not. During the negotiations the return of the Nagorno Karabakh to the table of the talks has been discussed for years, as it is at least immoral to negotiate over the destiny of the people not involving them into the talks’ process. I do not refer to the political expediency, legal issues, etc. This situation is so unnatural that it has always raised amazement, how the co-chair countries cannot understand it”, - said Bekaryan, Armenpress reports.
“What is going on during the negotiations that they make such open statements”, - said Bekaryan, adding that the participation of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic in the negotiations was and remains unavoidable.
Earlier it was reported that the U.S. Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group Ambassador James Warlick expressed a wish for the restoration of the complete format of the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict. “Cypriots of Greece and Turkey stated that they have passed into negotiations for the long-term settlement of the issue. And why can’t the same happen in case of Nagorno Karabakh,” James Warlick wrote in his micro blog of Twitter on February 13. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh left the following note in its micro blog:”We agree with James Warlick, that it is time to resume full negotiations with the direct participation of Nagorno Karabakh”.
