Air ticket prices reduce by 5 percent in Armenia in one month

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 5, ARMENPRESS: Tendencies of air ticket reduction are already noticeable in Armenia. At the course of the press conference convoked on February 5 the Head of the Department for the National Statistical Service and International Comparisons Gurgen Martirosyan stated that air ticket prices have decreased by 5 percent in 2014 as compared with December last year. Those who carry out air-transportations, as well as companies dealing with air ticket sale explain the tendencies of air ticket reduction both by seasonal factors and the first results of “Open sky” policy declared by the Government of Armenia. “Armenpress” found out that mainly prices of air tickets to Russia have reduced.

“Quantum tour” company informed that prices have fallen by about 25-30 thousand AMD. The phenomenon is conditioned by the entrance of a new airline company (Air Armenia Airline Company) to Air Transportation sector. “Ava tour” notes that in the initial period of “Open sky” policy tickets became cheaper, later they became a little expensive. For example, if the ticket price for the cities of the Russian Federation cost 103 thousand AMD in the past, they became 73 thousand AMD; in future they became expensive and cost 83 thousand AMD.

Air Armenia company explains reduction of ticket prices partly by “Open sky” policy. They have reduced air ticket prices to Moscow, Rostov, and Samara.
