Armenia’s state debt exceeds $4,5 billion

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 1, ARMENPRESS: Armenia summed up the year of 2013 with a state debt of $4 billion 588 million 455 thousand (1 trillion 861 billion 261 million drams). In comparison with the previous year the indicator has increased by $216 million 397 thousand. According to the data provided by the National Statistical Service of Armenia to Armenpress, in the state debt a considerable part is made by the foreign debt. In the months of January-December 2013 it made $3 billion 903 million 751 thousand (1 trillion 583 billion 517 million drams), increasing by $164 million 661 thousand in comparison with the previous year. The major part of the state debt – $3 billion 395 million 482 thousand (1 trillion 377 billion 343 million drams) – is the debt of the Government of Armenia and $508 million 269 thousand (206 billion 174 million drams) – is the debt of the Central Bank.

In the same period the internal debt of the Republic of Armenia made $684 million 704 thousand, increasing by $51 million 736 thousand in comparison with the previous year. In the internal debt the share of the state bonds purchased by the Armenian residents made $674 million 258 thousand. The share of the commercial credits made $8 million.
