Erdoğan will never have former power in Turkey: Cevat Sinet

YEREVAN, JANUARY 20, ARMENPRESS: Some analysts put forward the idea that the USA is behind the events, which is discontented with the Turkish business circles, who, avoiding the established punishment towards Iran by the West, cooperated with Iran. Armenpress had a talk on these issues with the Armenian journalist Cevat Sinet, who has moved to Belgium in the result of the persecution by the Turkish state.

- Mr. Sinet, what do you think, who are behind the Big Bribe launched on December 17?

- Since the foundation of the Turkish Republic there has not been any deputy, governor or mayor, who was not involved in bribery, theft or fraud. For example, the former Head of Istanbul Police MuammerGüler, who called Hrant Dink and threatened him. Who demanded from him to account for that? Nobody did. The community of Fethullah Gülen has been functioning for already 50 years. The government of the “Justice and Development” party (JDP), cooperating with the Gülen movement, has become its accomplice and supported the actions of the community. The community and the JDP members, uniting in 2007, killed Hrant Dink. If you ask where the criminals are, I would rather say that both of them are the same murderers. The soldier Kvanch Aghaoghlu as well, who killed Sevag Balıkçı, did not bear any punishment and now is free.

- Can these events damage the possible nomination of Erdoğan at the presidential elections in Turkey in August?

- Certainly, Erdoğan does not have the former power. The balance of the power has been broken. Serious actions can be carried out against Erdoğan and his supporters in the coming future. Now Erdoğan faces the Gülen community. He will win, as no other candidacy will be available to confront him. Though he is not as strong as he used to be. As everybody know that the RepublicanPeople's Party and the TurkishNationalMovementcarry out racist policy, only a few people of Turkey will support them at the elections.
