Membership with Customs Union provides significant benefits for member union trio: Vladimir Putin

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 2, ARMENPRESS. The membership with the Customs Union and common economic space of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus already provides significant benefits. The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin stated it at the course of the speech made in the Russian-Armenian interregional third conference held in Gyumri. “Despite the unfavorable external economic conjuncture in the latest years, the GDP of the trio grew by 1.3 percent in the first half of 2013. The elimination of the customs and administrative obstacles contributes to the growth of trade circle,” Vladimir Putin said as reported by “Armenpress”.

The President of the Russian Federation informed that within the frameworks of the Customs Union the volumes of the trade have grown by 2 percent in January-August of this year without taking into account the fuel-energy sector. The competitiveness of the national legal systems is a new principal phenomenon in this aspect. According to Vladimir Putin, the businessmen of the Customs Union member countries can choose the registration place of their companies in any other member countries, which is a challenge for the state bodies, stimulus for the realization of business in terms of creating favorable conditions.

The President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin who paid an official visit to the Republic of Armenia participated in the Russian-Armenian interregional third conference held in Gyumri.
